About Us

Welcome to our runaway road trip – the Monroe family’s ‘RV Chronicles’!

We are Mary and Craig! We’re infatuated with the thrill of a good road journey, cruising around in our passionate home on wheels, a Class A RV.

Mary (that’s me) is a former interior designer who once spent hours transforming brick-and-mortar spaces into beautiful havens. My heart, however, always fancied the marvelous vista beyond those windows. After spending a considerable time adorning other people’s homes, I felt the winds of change stirring in my soul, yearning for a life where my family and I could truly let our spirits wander and explore.

Craig, my wonderfully adventurous husband, is a nature-loving former Geography teacher. With a heart driven by curiosity and eyes full of wonder, his dream was to give us an opportunity to discover the world beyond the classroom walls. His fascination with nature, and his insatiable love for earth’s beauty, sparked our leap into the nomadic lifestyle.

After much contemplation, we pushed our boundaries and traded everyday suburbia for the open road. We named our new home “Iris”, a nod to the Greek Goddess of Travel. Iris, with its cozy quarters, has become our mobile castle, nurturing our treasured memories and transporting us to enchanting landscapes far and wide.

Our story is about much more than just exploring new places; it’s about rediscovering ourselves and seeing life from a fresh perspective. It’s about nurturing curiosity, and sharing an invaluable experience together. It’s about living our life intertwined with nature, where the birds sing our morning alarms, and the stars and moon become our night lamps.

As the quote plastered on our RV dash subtly reminds us every day, “We have a whole world to see, and nothing holding us back.” And that is exactly what we are committed to doing– embracing the world, one day and one mile at a time.

This blog chronicles our adventure of a lifetime and shares little tidbits about our life on the road. We invite you to journey along with us as we recount our unforgettable escapades, experiences, and life lessons.

Strapping in for the long haul,

Mary and Craig
